About Us
Family Hansenorium is a charitable registered society dedicated itself for the causes of Leprosy, Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS patients. The Hansenorium was started at the initiative of Late Bishop Mendonsa of the diocese of Tiruchirapalli in the year 1955. The congregation of Mother of Sorrows servents of Mary assumed charges of this institution from diocese.
Fathimanagar is located in sylwan surroundings, 18 kms, South of Tiruchirapalli town on the National Highways 45B (Tiruchirapalli-Madurai Main Road) and is well connected by road.
Objectives
- To serve the leprosy patients-to arrange for their effective treatment irrespective of caste, race, community or creed.
- To cooperate with state and Central Government for total eradication of leprosy and control of TB.
- To make the community to understand the leprosy affected persons, to respect and to help them.
- To rehabilitate the leprosy cured persons
- To provide comprehensive health care to the persons infected and affected with HIV/ AIDS, especially the children.
